Transition Program

MCIL’s Transition program continues to seek out opportunities to build relationships with youth in the community. This year we have done outreach all over the twin cities in local youth programs.

Instead of waiting for the phone to ring we have placed ourselves in the community. This has given staff the name recognition with youth and teachers; through this we have seen an increase in appointments and IEP meeting invitations.

More importantly several students have made significant strides this year. One in particular is finally ready to get his drivers permit. Obtaining it will allow him to be more independent and further his professional and social opportunities. We applaud his successes and look for many more stories like his in the coming months.
