TOPIC: The Impact of Bullying Today

The Impact of Bullying Today 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Hi Everyone:

 Today's topic has had a lasting impact on people for a long time. It is sad to think that in today's times of knowledge and technology that bullying would still be prevalent.

Bullying can be a cycle of events for many people. Teasing and making fun of differences is where it starts. If people have the confidence to stand up to bullies it can be prevented; but sometimes those that make stands to stop bullying from happening become bullies themselves.

 I would like to hear about some of your experiences with bullying!

Have you been bullied? Have you been a bully yourself?

What did you do to change things?

Bullying can be a tough topic to talk about. I remember when I was in highschool I didn't want to admit I was being bullied cause I thought it would mean something negative about who I was.

I never really thought that it had more to do with the bully than with me. I was just a target.

Its hard to be young and different though.

It takes some time to realize that different doesn't always have to be bad... Just different.

What really changed things for me was standing up to my bully by confronting her and telling her it wasn't ok that she pushed me around and said mean things to me. I also told my teacher.

I'm 25 now and just last year I was out to eat with friends and ran into my bully from highschool...

and guess what!

she told me how sorry she was that she picked on me! she hadn't realized how much she was hurting me till i stood up to her!

My friend picks on me on the bus. He teases me. I get upset. I can tell him to stop and I don't like it when he teases me.

I have seen other people get picked on I have not stopped it or stepped in to stop it before.
Now I will step in and try to stop some one from
bullying another person.

People bully me. I just say stop or I just bully them back to stop it.
